György Verebes

György Verebes György Verebes was born in 1965 in Zenta, Vojvodina. In 1989, he graduated from the Hungarian University of Fine Arts, majoring in printmaking, and continued his postgraduate studies there until 1992. He has been engaged in painting since 1988. Since 1990, he has collaborated with several jazz and world music ensembles as a pianist and composer, and he also writes music for theatre and film. He designs and creates theatrical sets. Alongside his painting activities, he publishes regularly.

He has been living at the Szolnok Artists’ Colony since 2002 and has served as its artistic director since 2003. Since 2013, he has been a board member of the Hungarian Day of Painting Foundation and has chaired it since 2017. In recognition of his professional work, he received the Mihály Munkácsy Prize in 2017. Since 2018, he has been a board member of the T-ART Foundation. In 2021, he was elected a corresponding member of the Hungarian Academy of Arts and became a full member in 2023. That same year, he was awarded the title of Meritorious Artist of Hungary.

His works can be found in numerous public and private collections. He has participated in nearly three hundred group exhibitions and has held more than seventy solo exhibitions in many countries around the world. In 2025, he is one of the curators of the 3rd National Salon of Fine Arts at the Kunsthalle (Műcsarnok).

Sándor Takó

Sándor Takó Award-winning producer (recipient of the Hungarian Motion Picture Award), film director, lawyer, and university lecturer. He is the producer of Strangled, the first Hungarian film series distributed by Netflix. He is the head of the FilmHungary production company and has directed and produced numerous historical documentaries.

He is a lecturer at Pázmány Péter Catholic University and Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design, as well as the author, editor, and publisher of several professional film-related publications.

He is an alumni fellow of the Hungarian Academy of Arts and he is also a member of the Age Rating Committee of the National Film Office.
